- Villa Valley View
Wednesday, June 13, 2012
Just returned from a 2 weeks stay in the Villa Valley View. Arrived late at night and the owner was waiting for us to let us in. On arrival, there was a welcome pack of bread, tea, coffee, sugar, spread, milk, water and toilet roll - most welcome after a long day travelling. Our party consisted of 6 adults and a baby and the cot was all made up ready.
The villa was really clean and welcoming and the pool looked spectacular lit up at night. The owners erected a gazebo on day 2 to protect the little one from the heat. Outside BBQ area was large and well set out. There were lots of outside sitting and relaxing areas.
The owner brought us fresh towels and bedding after one week and even offered to make the beds up for us. Inside the villa is very well equipped and there is a laundry room which was very useful with a baby in the group.
The pool area is well protected by a secure ballustrade so was very safe for a 20 month old toddler.
The reason for our holiday was our daughters wedding. We took my daughter and her husband to be to the villa for her wedding which was held in The Raddison Blu, St Juliens Bay (Fab), and the owners let us decorate the villa and pool area for the wedding.
The bus system (now Arriva!!!!) is surprisingly very good - only 2.60 euro for a day ticket (about £2.16) There are buses to Valetta, Bugibba, Melleiha Bay, St Pauls and St Juliens and the park and ride is a five min walk from the villa.
The very well stocked and reasonably priced supermarket is a short walk up the hill from the villa. Cash machine in the lower part of the main road and three good bars within a 2 minute walk. The Cross Keys restaurant was also the choice of venue for our daughters wedding dinner. The restaurant also has a great pizzeria downstairs and a bar on the ground floor. All very well priced, good food and drinks in the bar nearly all 2 euros for vodka, brandy etc with mixer and the barman Luke made us a fab cocktail.
Thanks to the owners for making us welcome. Would return if we came to Malta in a big group.
